No, but there’s been in rise in the number of village idiots we let run society.
I’ve been a quote ‘Nazi’ since I voted for George W Bush in 2000. A lot of these words are overused and not understood. This language tells me more about the person saying these things than it actually represents any of my positions and ideas.
Ironically, the Left is creating the thing they fear the most by shutting down normal people with legitimate positions and concerns. It’s like that episode of Star Trek where the people of the new civilization they encounter are in a nightmare world of their own making because it was based n their thoughts and the thoughts were ugly. (Sorry, don’t remember the specific series for that plot line or else I would have included it).
Jonathan Pageau has an excellent podcast episode where he argues that post-war secularists and Leftists turned Hitler and Nazis into ‘the Devil’ since they wanted to deconstruct us to be materialistic heathens and not believe in God anymore. Nature abhors a vacuum. It’s a part of why the WW2 consensus is breaking down.
Since I’m not a heathen, I don’t buy into the world they are trying to create. That doesn’t make me a Nazi—fascist or whatever.
I’m left wondering why these people aren’t either in mental asylums ‘cuz a lot of this type appear to be certifiable based on the behavior we see or in educational facilities learning that a woman is an adult human female ‘cuz they missed that lesson the first few times around - which is just plain weird. 🤷🏻♀️
As we lower ourselves further into the latrine of 'them' and 'us', the identification with a group and an ideology will only strengthen and completely miss the point of caring for the country we live in and being motivated by a desire for our country's and our population's well being. Also thank you for the podcast with David Betz, it was frighteningly well done.
Having watched Prof Steven Hicks on Trigg and then after reading his book Nietzsche and the Nazis, it’s clear to me that the term far-right has been completely misused, abused and contorted.
Take the subject of controlling immigration. Exerting more control over immigration can only be done by the state, therefore requires more state control. Right wing politics limits state control. It’s LEFT wing politics that encourages MORE state control. The Right Wing stance on immigration is “bring them in” so they can be put to work for low wages to make big business more profit.
Also, the Left is about collectivism and the Right is about individualism. So what does that make the social memes #metoo, “my truth”, “my pronouns are…”, claiming there are more genders than people, allowing minorities to dictate to the majority, not accepting a majority vote. This woke ideology is far more individualistic (right wing) than they want to believe.
You mentioned BNP and National Front, but does “far-right” really describe these often disillusioned, working class, underprivileged men? Most of them are angry Labour voters, not “ultra capitalists”! And to jump from traditional left to Far-right seems a bit of a stretch to me.
For me, woke ideology is authoritarian RIGHT, not left.
Patriotism is collectivism, so Left, not Right. And why shouldn’t people care about their country? We all pay enough bloody tax to it! It’s a bit like your kids… cost you a fortune, gets loads wrong, but you love em anyway and you protect them.
I've had this exact thought since the term "woke right" started rearing it's ugly head. Its all where the power lies, and, currently, for every ounce the far right has the far left has a gallon. Good article, Francis.
Lor but you do make me laugh, Francis - while at the same time nailing some very good points. The burka though? I get you in that people should be free to wear whatever, but total face covering is a bit of material too far. Isolating, dismissive of everyone else who shows their face in our polite and free society and, quite frankly, medieval. It'll never ever be banned here though. Our (brothers) leaders will never allow that to happen.
"What happens when we get someone rise to prominence who actually is far right? What do we do then? We do the only thing we can do. Go on social media and moan about it."
You hit the nail on the head.
I went to a debate that KK and Matt Goodwin had to together. Back then I also felt that KK was good at pointing out the obvious problems but never offering any solutions. Well, untill MG said "we need a new politics"
That's it, that's the solution!
However, MGs new politics is to reform the old politics.
I know I still sound mad but a "New Democracy" is need to take over the legacy Democracy. This way of building a new system outside of the old broken system is proving to be working. Just look at New Media. No one has tried to reform the Mainstream media as it just stiffles any attempt. It will be the same with Legacy Democracy. Just imagine you and KK going into BBC to reform it. Soon you'll be up to your eyeballs in noncing.
I am going to the New Media Conference in August because I have a feeling it is the birth place of my New Democracy.
Francis moaning about it on Social Media is a start. New Media controls the political stage now. You saw that with the "Podcast vote" when Trump got elected. It is still early days but I think any totalitarian party rises up, far right or crazy far left, New Democracy will be in full swing to stop it.
Far right is everyone to the right of Mao. The left manipulates language to make their terrible ideas sound good. Here is a dictionary of demoralized doublespeak: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/demoralilzed-doublespeak-dictionary-2025
People who fearmonger about the far right don't acknowledge there a far radical left.
No, but there’s been in rise in the number of village idiots we let run society.

If i wasn't British I would write: Hilarious!
I might even add a RoTFL emoji 🤣 (not being 'down with the kids').
But I am British, so that just comes off as sarcasm, so instead, I'll write this longwinded nonsense.
Bring back 'Raw'!
Bring back 'Raw'! ✊️
Awesome read FF!

But what if its someone else( eg husband, male reps) who insist you wear a hijab- or else you get attacked
There's the rub. I don't like them for that very reason, but don't think they can be banned.
Sure they can
Far right lol… how about just more conservative. Can we say that the world was previously far left with its path towards full on communism.

Hey man, not all the cheese is melt that fast!
“Take the French whose resistance to the Nazis melted faster than one of their cheeses at room temperature. Never, ever trust a Frenchman.”
In all seriousness, I enjoyed this article. And, it was fun to learn how your childhood informed some of your beliefs today.
